In pasture to W of public road. Site of Tuoghcluggin Church (LI024-082001-) stood in SE quadrant of graveyard which consists of a sub-rectangular area (dims. 28m N-S; 51m E-W) enclosed by stonewall (H 1.2-1.5m). A small sub-rectangular shaped area (dims. 28m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by scarp (Wth 3.15m; H 0.95m) within W-half of graveyard may be remains of an earlier enclosure. Two inscribed headstones within, earliest dates to 1779 and numerous uninscribed gravemarkers. Tobernacrohaneeve holy well (LI024-083----) c. 150m to E. Site of Castle Cluggin (LI024-081---) lies 135m to W.
Grave Yd., Castlecluggin is a medieval Christian burial site, likely associated with the former Tuoghcluggin Church. Its significance lies in its potential to provide insights into local ecclesiastical and funerary practices of the medieval period.
