Painted cast-iron water pump, erected c. 1900. Circular fluted shaft with faucet emerging from top, on moulded plinth, widening-out at top of shaft to moulding with alternative fixing locations for operating valve handle, fluted domed cap surmounted by acorn finial. Set in grass verge at roadside to east of Mullarkey's public house.
This cast-iron water pump is of historical and technical interest dating from a period before mains water supply became available. It's design is aesthetically pleasing.
