Pill box in Tullylannan is sunk into a slope, watching the road from Carrick-on-Shannon through gaps in the concrete. Give it a net curtain and it could tell you who passed, who was driving, and whether that was his own wife.

Overlooking the approaching road from Carrick-on-Shannon, this defensive structure is a reminder of mid-twentieth century history. Constructed in concrete during the Second World War, this pill box is a rare feature in the Irish landscape. It is of technical and historical significance.
