What is recorded here

Detached single-cell Roman Catholic church, built in 1888. Four-bay nave with projecting porches to west side and vestry to east. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, stone cross finial, bargeboards to porches and rendered chimneystack to vestry. Pebbledashed walls with rendered plinth. Triple lancets with stained glass to south end and rose window to north chancel end. Timber battened double doors. Open truss roof to interior. Freestanding cast-iron bell to south. Church bounded by random stone wall with cast-iron gate.
Set back from the road within mature grounds and bounded by randomstone wall with cast-iron gates, this church occupies a pleasant site. Its modest and understated design is subtly enhanced by artistically designed stained glass windows. As a centre for religious activity, it is a socially significant structure.
