Outlined

Situated on flat pasture with extensive views in all directions and a nearby ringfort (TN007-061) to the N. On the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map a circular feature is outlined enclosing a OD trigonomterical station point marking 276ft.. This small circular feature or enclosure may have been constructed by the Ordnance Survey when marking the OD level at this location. A quarry is indicated at this location on the revised 1901 ed. OS 25-inch map and no monument is indicated at this location on the 25-inch map. The site appears to have been destroyed by the quarry that is indicated on the 25-inch OS map. Today, neither the quarry or the earthwork is visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
