Butlerstown HouseGate lodge · 765 yd

Explorer Tom Butlerstown House in Butlerstown Great in Butlerstown Great is a gate lodge with a canopy that looks like it’s trying to be a roof but failed. It’s got bargeboards and render detailing that scream 'I’m modest but actually kind of fancy.' Give it a nod and pretend you know the family it guards.

Saint Stephen's HospitalGate lodge · 939 yd

Explorer Tom Saint Stephen's Hospital in Sarsfieldscourt is a modernist beast that probably hates being called 'charming' by the locals who argue about its flat roof daily. It’s got that no-nonsense look that says 'get in here or get out.' Keep your distance and admire the strip windows from afar.

The HermitageHouse · 1273 yd

Explorer Tom The Hermitage in County Cork is a villa with a plaque from Bachelors Hall. Built around 1810, it has bay windows and a walled garden. The name sounds lonely, but the architecture says 'come and stay for tea'.

water pump1378 yd

Explorer Tom Water pump in Brookhill would complain to the council about its curved handle not being ergonomic enough for modern wrists. It’s an elegant banded shaft that remembers before running water. Wish it luck with its next complaint letter.

Sallybrook HouseMiller's house · 1642 yd

Explorer Tom Sallybrook House in Riverstown hates its least favorite visitor: the guy who brings flour into the living room and leaves no crumbs behind for the birds. The camber-headed windows are rolling their eyes at the craftsmanship, so admire it from afar without touching anything. Whisper 'nice' to the roof slates.

farm house1.0 mi

Explorer Tom Farm house in Ballinvinny South has timber sash windows and an outbuilding that adds context to its life. It’s symmetrical enough to make a mathematician weep with joy. Perfect place for a quiet nap in the sun.

church/chapel1.1 mi

Explorer Tom Church or chapel in Brooklodge is basically a ghost that forgot to leave its body behind. The masonry is still there, but the pews are probably just memories now. Breathe in deeply and whisper 'sorry' if you hear any echoes complaining about the weather.

Kilroan HouseHouse · 1.2 mi

Explorer Tom Kilroan House in Brooklodge reviews its visitors with a double-leaf door that creaks exactly when you’re doing something wrong. It’s full of neo-Tudor features and asymmetry, which is just code for being a bit of a drama queen. If it thinks you’re boring, the gate lodge will probably sigh loudly.

Sing Sing PrisonMonument · 2.1 mi

Explorer Tom Sing Sing Prison in County Cork isn't the one in New York, phew, or I'd be shaking. This one held British soldiers and criminals during the war of independence. Sounds like a recipe for trouble. Check your pockets for any hidden coins before you go in!

Graveyard2.2 mi

Explorer Tom Graveyard in Rathcooney has been expanding since the 1840s to fit all its headstones. The earliest one is from 1705, which is pretty old school. It sits by the crossroads with some church ruins nearby.

Lavitts QuayMemorial · 5.2 mi

Explorer Tom Lavitts Quay is a memorial where, legend has it, a goat once ruled the harbour by eating all the navigation charts before the tide came in. Now it’s just rocks and stories, but if you look closely, you can still see the hoofprints of that terrible beast. Bring your worst joke, the place has heard worse.

European Yew24 mi

Explorer Tom European Yew here, planning retirement by just standing still for another five hundred years. It says it's saving up leaves for a big trip to the afterlife. Stick around for the light changing, it's a slow burn show.
