Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c. 1870, with cylindrical shaft having banding, moulded spout with bucket grip, dome-shaped cap with finial and curved pumping handle.
This water pump exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly-curved handle, banded shaft and finial. It is an interesting and notable feature on the streetscape and offers a reminder of a time before domestic running water.
