Graveslab in Stackallan

Two medieval graveslabs and other features from the parish church of Stackallan (ME018-030----) are now attached to the W wall of the vestry of the Church of Ireland church at Slane (ME019-023005-). One graveslab (Wth 0.37-0.62m; L 1.61m) is coffin-shaped with a two-line expanding cross inside a two-line incised border. Medieval Christian burial slab; associated with the parish church of Stackallan and later incorporated into the Church of Ireland church at Slane. Its reuse reflects ecclesiastical continuity and architectural adaptation in the region during the medieval period.
