Explorer Tom Grangesylvia Church has caught my eye in Grange Upper, County Kilkenny. I bet a church with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Font in Grange Upper had an incident where a fox took charge of the area and declared itself king of the ruined church for three days straight. It’s just a crude granite box now, but it remembers the chaos of that furry tyrant ruling the roost with absolute authority. Take the long way round, it deserves the effort.

Cist in Grange UpperCist · 212 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Cist in Grange Upper is basically a stone box hiding two ancient vases. The shortcut through the field isn't a shortcut if you find urns instead of treasure. Stand still and listen, the wind tells it better than me.
Burial in CourtnaboghillaBurial · 922 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Burial in Courtnaboghilla found bones during bulldozing in 1958, proving that heavy machinery always finds the interesting stuff. It hears every argument about property lines through those old walls. Give it a pat on the way past, it's had a long life.
Explorer Tom Goat's Bridge in Grange is where the Vikings supposedly got lost looking for it. It’s a modest little thing now, but back then it was apparently the centre of the universe. Snap one photo, turn around, and try not to fall in the stream.
Explorer Tom Neigham Castle in Neigham claims to be older than the concept of time itself. Sir James Butler built it right before he dropped dead, which is weird. Toast it with tea and move on, love.
Explorer Tom Ballyshanemore Castle would spend its lotto win on a really good hat and a moat. It’s sitting in the demesne pretending to be an Earl from the 1400s. Bring a jacket, it's never as warm as I promise.
