In level area of gently undulating pasture, at base of WNW-facing slope. Circular area (dims. 15m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by scarped edge (Wth 6m; H 0.5m) and external fosse (basal Wth 2.75m; overall Wth 11.75m; Dth 0.15m). Fosse truncated by field boundary WSW-NW. Traces of an outer bank (Wth 9.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.15m) N-NE. Interior generally level and monument largely levelled and incorporated into rest of field as pasture. Neolithic ring-barrow; dates to the early to middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3000 BCE). This type of monument is significant as it represents an early form of burial practice in Ireland, often associated with elite or prominent individuals.
