Aghaknock holds one of Ireland’s last true standing stones, a rare survivor where most were broken or buried. It stands in County Cavan, not as a showpiece but as a witness, marking the kind of landscape where people once measured ceremony, boundary or memory in stone. Its simplicity is what makes it valuable: little has been added, invented or smoothed away.
