St. Bridgets Well

On the E-facing slope of a slight ridge with limestone outcrop and scrub. A sunken cleft (dims. 0.7m x 0.7m; D 0.35m) forms the well, now dry, located in a concrete surround (dims. 3.8m N-S; 2.3m E-W) with a timber seat nearby and gravel paths approaching it. A pattern was held on February 1st in the 19th century (O'Flanagan 1929, 98). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
