Fulacht FianFulacht fia · 431 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Fulacht Fian in Dromdaleague sits in boggy ground with a depression that looks like it’s mid-yawn. It’s irregular, just like my sense of direction when the rain starts. Bring a pen pal, they'll be jealous.
TobernasoolHoly well · 537 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Tobernasool is a spring with a lintel roof that seems to have given up on holy use. It's the kind of place that makes a dull Tuesday interesting.
IndicatedEnclosure · 670 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Enclosure in Dromdaleague is a square area with a stone-faced earthen bank that looks surprisingly recent, like someone just built it for a photoshoot. There's a big irregular mound abutting the eastern bank inside, which probably has a story about why it's there that nobody wants to tell!
shop/retail outlet1058 ydExplorer Tom Shop or retail outlet in Baurnahulla is actually a house now, but it looks like it wants to sell you something. Built c.1950, it’s got decorative parapets that are very artsy. Take a pic of those finials!
water pump1219 ydExplorer Tom Water pump in Baurnahulla is all fancy artistic detailing for something that just gives you water. It probably has an imaginary twin across the sea judging it for being boring. Hang on tight and give it a spin!
Children's playground1424 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Children's playground has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a children's playground with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Castle Donovan in County Cork was damaged by Cromwell's army back in 1650. It's on a rocky outcrop now undergoing repair. Take a photo for me if you can see the battle scars still lingering!
Castle Donovan (in Ruins)Castle, tower house · 2.4 miExplorer Tom Castle Donovan in Castledonovan, County Cork is showing off its full height, despite losing a corner like it was nothing. Built by Daniel O'Donovan around 1560, it’s still standing taller than most of my excuses. Wave to the river if you can!
