Putland's Bridge

Triple-arch road bridge, built c.1815, spanning River Martin. Segmental-headed central arch with rendered facades, flanked by round-headed arches having rubble stone walls and roughly dressed limestone voussoirs. Rubble stone parapet walls with solider capping, render to central segments of parapets of parapet walls.

This road bridge is a testament to the endurance of nineteenth engineering achievements and displays the work and quality of local craftsmanship. Although repaired using concrete, the rubble and dressed stone in its original construction remains. Located at the centre of the village, close to the church, this bridge is an important historic structure.
