Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, c.1935, with raised 'P&T' monogram in Gaelic script. Set into unpainted roughcast boundary wall.

This post box is an attractive, if subtle, item of street furniture and is a good example of early surviving mass-produced cast ironwork. The lettering, in Gaelic script, is of interest as a reminder of the promotion of a national identity upon the establishment of an independent state.
