Bullaun stone

What is recorded here

On top of the N wall of a medieval church (CO010-003003-). This fragment of stone (0.31m x 0.26m) with portion of a hollow (0.19m; D 0.1m) on the surface was identified as a bullaun stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
