What is recorded here

Marked as a limekiln on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and on the OS 25-inch map. It is marked as a small D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 44m N-S; c. 30m E-W) with a straight N-S field bank at E on the 1927 ed. Situated in pasture on a gentle W-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level, but was certainly a lime-kiln. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 14rd December, 2011.
