What is recorded here

Indicated is a twenty-one-metre fairy fort in County Cavan where earth and stone still form a complete circle. Its southern edge wears drystone walling while the rest has surrendered to grass and forgetting. The entrance has vanished entirely, denying entry to every human who approaches. The fort may be waiting for someone who stops asking permission.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 21m) enclosed by a bank of earth and stone, best preserved at S where drystone walling has been applied to its outer face, and denuded elsewhere. Original entrance not recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
