Island ViewGates/railings/walls · 1.2 mi

Explorer Tom Island View in Fornaght is a gateway that probably drank forty cups of tea before it even finished building itself. The stone finials are so fancy they’re basically wearing jewelry, while the iron gates just stand there looking smugly superior to everything else nearby. Gorgeous mess.

post box1.3 mi

Explorer Tom That post box in Ballyglan has a pigeon living in it who refuses to leave, claiming it's his ancestral home now. The Queen's face is chiselled off, so he's basically running the show without any royal supervision whatsoever. Don't make eye contact with the bird, mate.

Ballyglan HouseCountry house · 1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Ballyglan House is incredibly proud of its panoramic view over Woodstown Strand, which it thinks makes it the king of all hills. Built for Sir Joshua Paul in seventeen seventy-one, it still holds its head high despite the wind. Look

Killea National SchoolOfficially recorded historic building · 1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Killea National School is sitting pretty on Knockacurrin, looking like it hasn't had a proper lesson since the school run stopped forever. It’s still got that crisp, original look despite changing its job description, which is seriously impressive for a building in Waterford. It stands out like a proud little square in the street scene, just waiting to tell you about old-school education without a

Historic buildingOfficially recorded historic building · 1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Historic building in Knockacurrin is locked in an endless feud with the rain, which seems to think it owes a personal debt to this cast-iron beauty. It's all about that royal cipher, as if the Queen ever actually visited this muddy corner of Waterford. Keep your distance and just admire the drama from afar!

milestone/milepost1.3 mi

Explorer Tom This milestone in Knockacurrin marks a shortcut that is actually a long way around, which is the joke of it. It’s been standing there since the coaching days, watching horses sweat and drivers swear at the same time. You can’t trust it, but you kind of respect its stubbornness anyway.

HayesHouse · 1.3 mi

Explorer Tom Hayes in Leckaun would post a selfie of its thatch roof with the caption 'Living my best low-life history' right now. It’s got those thick walls and battlements that make it look like a tiny fortress guarding nothing but a quiet street. Smile for the camera, mate.

Catholic Church of the Holy CrossChurch/chapel · 1.4 mi

Explorer Tom Catholic Church of the Holy Cross claims it’s actually older than the concept of Tuesday itself. It predates Catholic Emancipation by a decade, which makes it feel like a proud grandparent at a party. Tap on the wall gently to check if the foundation stones are still arguing about their age.

Woodstown HouseCountry house · 1.7 mi

Explorer Tom Woodstown House was built for a Baron, but Jackie Kennedy Onassis stayed there after the tragedy, which adds a weird layer of glamour to the whole place. Two lads probably bet in a pub that this view would be better than the one next door, and they lost badly. Bet your last coin that it’s still waiting for the next celebrity.

Ballydavid HouseHouse · 1.8 mi

Explorer Tom Ballydavid House is stuck on a Palladian plan and insists it’s the most important building in County Waterford, which is a tall order. It hums 'Yesterday' by The Beatles whenever the wind blows because it thinks that makes it sophisticated and deeply emotional. Listen out for the chorus before you pass.

Woodstown StrandBeach / strand · 1.9 mi

Explorer Tom Woodstown Strand is currently in a heated argument with the nearest tree about who looks better from the east side. The tree has been winning since roughly Tuesday afternoon, which is frankly embarrassing for the sand. Pop by and tell it it's looking well.

Tramore StrandBeach / strand · 4.9 mi

Explorer Tom Tramore Strand was designed by my mother-in-law, who insisted on making every single dune pointy just to annoy her husband. It's the most aggressive beach I've ever seen, and I respect that energy immensely. Go before the tourists find out.
