What is recorded here

On an E-facing slope in pasture. Depicted as a field boundary curving roughly from SE-S-WNW with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is cut by a laneway from WNW-N-NNE and by a field boundary from NNE-E-SE. On the 1913 ed. the boundary is more circular in plan. A raised circular area (diam. c. 38m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.3m; H 0.3m), which has been modified and incorporated into a field boundary at E and SE. A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded an external fosse, which has since been infilled. There is no visible trace of the monument to the NW of the now disused laneway.
