Explorer Tom Urn burial in Coolnahane was dug up by a machine in 1975, revealing a fancy zig-zag decorated urn. It held cremated remains and some bone fragments. O’Kelly had a bit of a dig around there. Wave at the drainage channel.
Gurteenbeha HouseHouse · 1148 ydExplorer Tom Gurteenbeha House is rare with its slate-hung first floor from c.1720! It’s got a classical doorway and decorative eaves slates, so if you see this unique feature, take a photo for me to show off!
Bannagh BridgeBridge · 1209 ydExplorer Tom Bannagh Bridge was built in 1810 with sandstone so precise it might have been cut by lasers. It spans the River Awbeg, looking down on you like a skilled craftsman judging your walking pace.
Explorer Tom Castle in Clonmeen North disappeared between 1842 and 1897, leaving no visible trace behind. It was once a possession of Philip O Mol. Now it’s just a dotted line on an old map and a lot of speculation about what used to stand there.
Castle Magner (in Ruins)Bawn · 1.4 miExplorer Tom Castle Magner Bawn in Castlemagner, County Cork was forfeited by the Magners and then given back to them, which sounds like a very confusing game of tag. Now it’s just a farmyard with some historical vibes. Try not to let the Bretridges steal your story while you’re there!
European Yew1.6 miExplorer Tom European Yew has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a european yew with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Explorer Tom Kanturk Castle has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a heritage attraction with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom St Abigails Well is enclosed in a D-shaped structure with niches for cups, looking very organized and bureaucratic. It’s still in use and has crosses carved on the stones by pilgrims who needed to mark their spot. Stand there long enough and someone will ask if you're lost.
