Listed in the RMP (1996) as ‘Watermill, possible site’. One of two mills (see CL033-138001-) referred to as the ‘Mills of Inish’ in 1656 in the Inchiquin Mss (540) and in the Manor Court Rolls (360) in 1685 as cited by Ó Dálaigh (2012, 16). Also 2 corn mills, a miller’s house and mill park are mentioned in Moland’s survey of 1703 (ibid.). The location of this mill and the name ‘Ennis Mills’ are shown on Ó Dálaigh’s map (2012, 4). Excavations in 1997 (licence no. 97E0424) in advance of the construction of an adjacent building to the SW revealed a wall which may have belonged to the earlier mill complex (Connolly 1998, 6).
