What is recorded here

Situated on a shelf that is on a gentle SE-facing slope overlooking Graghlone or Beagh Lough, an oval lake (dims c. 630m N-S; c. 360m E-W), the W shore of which is c. 150m distant. It is depicted as an oval embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 35m NW-SE: c. 25m NE-SW) described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. A fragment of an earthen bank (Wth of base 2.75m; Wth of top 0.8m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.1m) with some bushes survives at NW, but it is reduced to a scarp at NE (H 1.1m) (Chord 31m). There is no visible fosse and the rest of the perimeter cannot be traced.
