Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, c.1850. Extensively renovated, c.1950. Now in private residential use. Hipped slate roof behind parapet with red clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted replacement rendered, ruled and lined walls, c.1950, with rendered band, and rendered parapet, c.1950, having rendered coping. Square-headed window openings with cut-stone sills, and replacement timber casement windows, c.1950. Square-headed door opening recessed, c.1950, forming open internal porch with three cut-stone steps, and glazed timber panelled door. Set back from road in own grounds with landscaped grounds to site.
An attractive, small-scale gate lodge of modest appearance that retains its original balanced form and proportions, despite extensive renovation works in the mid twentieth century. The gate lodge, together with the attendant gateway (22901718/WD-17-18), forms an appealing feature in the landscape.
