Detached five-bay two-storey former gate lodge, built c.1830, having three-bay single-storey porch to side (south) and recent extension to side (north) and rear (east) elevations. Now in use as house. Pitched slate roof with fish scale pattern bands to main block, pitched dormer window to front (west) elevation, carved timber bargeboards and uPVC rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with painted stone sills having quarry glazed timber framed window to first floor of front elevation. Recent quarry glazed tripartite timber framed windows to ground floor, timber casement windows to porch and uPVC casement windows to extensions. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door. Square-profile cut and channelled limestone piers to east with carved capping stones to cut limestone enclosing wall with wrought-iron railings. Set back from roadside.

Although extended and renovated, the original form and character of this building remains and it continues to be a prominent feature of the streetscape. The quarry glazed windows and decorative slate roof are particularly noteworthy features, while the entrance gates add context to the site.
