What is recorded here
Hot stones, cold water, steam rising in a Carlow field. People gathered there to cook, clean or mark time beside the dead. The horse shoe shape still holds its distance from the burial ground, waiting for hands to remember what the water forgot.
Horse shoe shaped cairn (4m NW-SE; 4m SW-NE) N of burial ground (CW008-036001-) (pers. comm. Emmet Byrnes).
