Discovery came in 1951 when a sandridge in Pallasboy gave way to reveal three cists holding human bones. At least two chambers were short and rectangular, forcing the dead into compact stone boxes rather than endless earth. The flat cemetery still belongs to that sudden moment when ordinary ground stopped being ordinary and became a room for the departed.
