What is recorded here

On N-facing slope on the N edge of an E-W ridge in grassland. Large enclosure identified on Digitalglobe satellite imagery. Large roughly circular enclosure (diam. 65m), defined by a subtle, flattened bank (Wth at crest 1.6m; overall Wth 3.6m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.1m). There are traces of a very slight outer fosse (Wth 0.34m). The N sector is largely defined by scarp (Wth 4.5-7m), with a natural fall beyond this. The interior slopes with the natural slope of the ridge to the N. There is an entrance (Wth 3-4m) in the E quadrant. A subtle bank, which may be related to this enclosure, runs north-eastward for c. 70m immediately SE of the enclosure. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 12 October 2016
