The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Marked as a 'fort' on 1867 revision of OS 6-inch map. Shown as polygonal enclosure in latest ed. of 6-inch map. Man-made underground passage (LH004-076002-) discovered in interior in the 1960s. Both enclosure and Man-made underground passage now destroyed.

A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
