Situated in the valley of the N-S Mahon River. A pocket of broken and burnt stone is visible in a forestry drainage trench (L 3m; T 0.4m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Burnt mound in Graigueshoneen is a Bronze Age ritual or industrial site, characterized by heated stones and possibly used for cooking, hide processing, or ceremonial purposes. Its presence indicates early human activity and land use in the Mahon River valley.
