What is recorded here
The OS 1st edition map (1837) shows 'Windmill stump' on an eminence in a field in Knock townland. This is not shown on Rocque's map (1760) and, in consequence probably dates to the later 18th century. Site of Windmill adjacent to the road which runs up a high ridge with the reservoir to the the south and undulating hills including Knockbrack to the north. High ground currently under gorse and long grass, drops steeply to pasture which has been fenced off.
