Flat cemetery in Darcystown — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

This flat cemetery was excavated (Licence no. 03E0067) in advance of development. It comprised twenty-three pits containing cremated bone and/or fragments of pottery vessels, eight substantially intact. All were coarse ware vessels of Late Bronze Age date (Carroll et al. 2008, 22). Compiled by: Christine Baker Date of upload: 2 February 2015

A Neolithic flat inhumation cemetery; dates to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its significance lies in providing insights into early funerary practices, including cremation and the use of pottery vessels in burial rites.
