Erasmus Smith HouseSchool · 157 yd

Explorer Tom Erasmus Smith House in Lifford is playing dress-up as an office after being a school and a nunnery. It’s been through more careers than my uncle. Toast it with a cup of tea, maybe a biscuit, and move on to the next.

BellevueHouse · 260 yd

Explorer Tom Bellevue in Lifford is now a library, which means the ghosts only whisper about overdue fines. A fairy dispute over parking rights started there in 1820 and nobody has settled it since. Hum something sad nearby, it adds atmosphere.

Clare CastleCastle, Anglo-Norman masonry castle · 2.5 mi

Explorer Tom Clare Castle in Skehanagh is an Anglo-Norman masonry beast that thinks modern architecture is for wimps. It probably has strong opinions about your haircut, too. Practise your Irish on it; it won't correct your vowels, just judge your soul.

Shallee Castle (in Ruins)Castle, tower house · 3.1 mi

Explorer Tom Shallee Castle in Shallee is suspicious of the postman because he keeps delivering bad news about treason and hanged sons. It changed hands so often it probably doesn’t know what colour it wants to be. Mind the nettles, they're the real guards here.

Hawthorn4.9 mi

Explorer Tom Hawthorn that looks like it's waiting for its turn in line for the pub. Go on, count the windows and get it wrong like I did.

Grave YardGraveyard · 5.4 mi

Explorer Tom Graveyard in Kilmaley is playing hide-and-seek with me. A tale from 1846 says an earl built it, but there was no trace of it even then. Bring a friend who talks too much and let the place shut them up.
