This water pump has an unusual level of artistic detailing including banding, fluting, and foliate decoration to the spout. The pump is located close to the Ardglassan cottages. It forms an important part of the historic fabric of the group, as it would have once been the sole water supply to the cottagers, and therefore is of social significance.
