The Old Barracks in Crossakeel has sash windows with sixteen panes lined up neatly and little curved horns on the frames. Even the windows look ready for inspection, though somebody has let them grow extravagant moustaches.
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1870, with two-storey return. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack. Roughcast rendered walls with render quoins. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Timber battened door with overlight. Three-bay single-storey former outbuilding now in use as wing to west.
This house compliments the streetscape of Crossakeel. The unusual timber sash window, with eight-over-eight panes and either ogee or convex horns give the house a unique identity. The substantial former outbuilding which is now part of the domestic accommodation also retains some interesting materials and features.
