Tumulus

In pasture, on crest of hill. Grove White (1905-25, vol. 3, 12) noted 'small cairn' said to be burial place of 'old Downan...killed [by mistake] by a chain shot in the old wars'. Levelled; spread of fulacht fiadh material (10701) noted in area of site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
