Linked to Saint Sunday, the well was traditionally visited for healing and protection, with Sunday processions and rituals thought to have been part of its veneration. The site reflects a blend of early Christian devotion and local folklore, though its holy use has since ceased.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
