What is recorded here

Situated atop a low hill in rolling pasture c. 100m SW of a rath (LI013-057----). Weathered limestone pillar (H 0.83m; Wth. 0.25m) with faces to the N and S. Cattle rubbing has smoothed it at its top (Toomey and Greensmyth 1991, Site 3). Compiled by: Martin Fitzpatrick Date upload: 26 June 2020

Probably dates to the Bronze Age, given its association with a nearby rath and typical megalithic traditions of the period. It may have had a ritual or territorial function, though specific folklore or symbolic meaning is not recorded.
