Standing stone in Cartronbore

Standing stone in Cartronbore is a recumbent limestone slab on a north-facing pasture slope in County Longford. It stood upright when measured in 1978, aligned northwest to southeast, but has since fallen onto the grass. Another stone lies three hundred metres to the northwest, suggesting the field once held more than one marker. The first may have marked a boundary, a burial or a route now forgotten, while the second waited patiently for someone to remember what the first had said.
