Standing stone in Boolymore

Bowman (1934, 352) recorded standing stone ('4ft 2in by 2ft by 1ft 9in') on Mrs Colman's land. Colman's house is on E side of townland, to W of Fortgrady Wood. According to local information, stone stood in field to NW of house. Removed c. 1987. Exact location not known. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the standing stone in Boolymore may have served as a boundary marker, ritual focus, or astronomical alignment point. Local tradition or folklore associated with the stone is not recorded.
