St. Patrick’s Well at Knockaun is traditionally associated with the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, and is believed to have been a site of Christian pilgrimage and healing. Holy wells linked to St. Patrick are often connected to the spread of Christianity in Ireland and are commonly attributed with curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general well-being.
