Freestanding square-profile two-stage signal tower, built c.1800, now ruinous. Lime rendered rubble stone walls with crenellated parapets, having slate string course to base of parapet. Pointed arch window and door openings, having dressed stone sills to window openings. Attached rubble stone boundary walls to north and east elevations.

Located at the south-west corner of Castle Downeen's boundary walls, this tower most likely served as a lookout and boundary marker for the castle, ideally located at the highest area on Downeen Point. Although now in ruins, its original form can still be seen and fine stone craftsmanship is evident.
