What is recorded here
Pole mounted cast-iron road sign, erected c.1930, having rounded corners with raised text and harp motif in relief. A number of more recent signs have been added to the pole.
This sign is a notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture. The simplicity and clarity of its design is typical of its time. Its functional nature is enhanced and emphasised by the use of capital letters in a clear simple font without serifs. The harp motif indicates a date of installation after the foundation of the State.
