What is recorded here

Post-mounted cast-iron post box, erected c.1940, having Post Office and P & T insignia in relief.
A notable example of mid twentieth-century street furniture, this fine post box has a simplicity and clarity of design typical of its time. Its functional nature is enhanced the simple capital letters and a fine insignia. Sited in a rural location, it is an important communications link.
