Freestanding post mounted cast-iron road sign, installed c.1940. Rounded corners, having raised text and harp motif in relief.

This is a notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture. Its simplicity and clarity of its design is typical of its time. Its functional nature is greatly enhanced and emphasised by its casting using capital letters in a clear simple font without serifs. The harp motif indicates a date of installation after the foundation of the State.
