Sheepfold

In rough pasture, on the NE-facing slope of Esknabrock Hill. A rectangular area (4.6m E-W; 3.3m N-S) with slightly rounded corners, defined by a roughly built drystone wall (T 0.8m; H 0.8m) on the N, E and S sides. The enclosure abuts the vertical face of outcropping rock along the S side which is topped with a short section of drystone walling. There is an entrance (Wth 0.4m) in the NW corner. The interior and exterior are obscured by ferns and a scatter of loose stones. The enclosure appears to have been used recently as an animal shelter.
