Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. Earthworks in the field E of the great Dowth passage tomb (ME020-017----) have been resolved by oblique aerial photography and LiDAR imagery (Davis 2018) into a post-medieval field system (ME020-016001-) at NW, a ring-ditch and a medieval hollow way (ME020-016005-). The ring-ditch is a circular grass-covered feature (diam. 11.5m) defined by a low bank overlaid by NE-SW lazy beds.
