Detached three-bay two-storey RIC barracks, built c.1840. Now in use as house. Two-storey flat-roof and older lean-to extensions to rear and recent flat-roof porch addition. Pitched slate roof having dressed limestone chimneystacks. Coursed snecked rusticated limestone walls with dressed limestone quoins and surrounds to openings. Square-headed openings with limestone sills and replacement uPVC windows and door.

This former RIC barracks retains much of its original form and character despite additions and extensions. The imposing rusticated façade of the building is enhanced by the dressed limestone dressings. It is significant for its historical connection with the nearby Barnane House. The barracks building was one of several located on the perimeter of the estate and initiated by the Carden family
