What is recorded here

Rath Lower holds a buried mound only a few roods from its castle, close enough for kitchen noise and festival music to have landed on its clay. That nearness suggests the mound watched human life rather than stood apart from it. Maybe it marked a boundary, a grave or a place where the castle drew its identity.
