Megalithic structure in Rath Lower

Megalithic structure

What is recorded here

In 1744 Isaac Butler wrote of a megalithic tomb in Rath Lower, but no trace remained when later seekers looked. The earth may have swallowed the stones or people may have scattered them for field walls. Whatever vanished, Butler’s words preserve the shape of what was lost.
A possible megalithic tomb is described in Isaac Butler's journal (1744). No trace of this could be found. (CLAJ 1922, 101) Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 8 March 2012
